MORRISON — Pawnee and Glencoe provide the opposition for Afton during the first round of the Mike Kerr Classic, which begins here Thursday.

The Eagles face Glencoe at 12:20 p.m. while the AHS girls tackle Pawnee at 1:40 p.m.

Six of the 16 teams in the field are in the polls.

Frontier is fifth and Glencoe sixth in Class A girls.

On the boys’ side, there’s Ketchum, No. 12 in 2A; Pawnee, No. 20 in 2A; Frontier, No. 4 in Class A, and Glencoe, No. 14 in A.

Others in the field include the Woodland, Tonkawa and Morrison boys and Morrison, Ketchum, Tonkawa, Pawnee and Woodland girls.

Other first-round girls’ games include Frontier vs. Morrison, 11 a.m.; Woodland vs. Glencoe, 4:20 p.m., and Ketchum vs. Tonkawa, 7 p.m.

On the boys’ side, other opening-round action includes Frontier vs. Woodland, 3 p.m.; Morrison vs. Ketchum, 5:40 p.m., and Tonkawa vs. Pawnee, 8:20 p.m.

Action continues Friday and Saturday leading to the girls’ title game at 7 p.m. and the boys’ final at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Afton boys were fourth here a year ago, falling 58-45 to Frontier.

A 44-33 win over Weleetka gave the Lady Eagles seventh place.
