MIAMI — Eight straight wins, including five pins, helped Jay take charge during a 66-18 romp over Miami in a high school wrestling dual Thursday night at the old MHS gym.
Forfeits at the first two weights had given Jay a 12-0 advantage, but the Wardogs pulled even when Cooper Stone got a forfeit at 120 pounds and 126-pounder Jordan Freeman pinned Cameron Prieto at 1:17.
The Bulldogs’ run started with back-to-back-to-back pins by Rodney Beasley against Kasin Lemley, Caleb Buzzard over Gabe McCleary and Jessie Hodge against Ian Stone.
Down the stretch, Jay got another three pins and three forfeits.
Miami’s only points during that run came at 220, where Callan Cox won by forfeit.
The Wardogs travel to Vinita Tuesday, and then host the annual Miami Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
