Northeast Technology Center Afton recently announced the launch of a new program on campus, starting with the fall semester. 

The new Construction and Building Maintenance program is now open for enrollment, and will begin with fall classes this August.

The program is open to high school students entering their junior or senior years, as well as adult students. To inquire about the program or to apply today, call NTC Afton at 918-257-8324.

The Construction and Building Maintenance Program will train students in a wide variety of skills and disciplines needed to thrive in the construction and building maintenance industries.

Students will study a wide range of courses, including Construction Core, Working in the Green Environment, Introduction to Carpentry, Commercial Finish, Basic Electricity and Electrical Theory, Masonry, Introduction to HVAC, HVAC Preventative Maintenance, HVAC Controls, Plumbing, Water Supply Piping, and Introduction to Welding and Cutting Processes.

Students completing this program will be well equipped to work in the construction and building maintenance fields, for a wide variety of companies and organizations including manufacturers, hospitals, schools, corporations, office parks, and all other large facilities with the demands these skill sets provide.

Students will have the opportunity to receive NCCER Certification (the National Center for Construction Education and Research). College credit is also available through partnerships with local colleges and universities through the Cooperative Alliance.

The program is free to high school juniors and seniors, as well as for students who will be in their first year following high school. The program is affordable for adults, and financial aid is available for those who qualify.
