Fred E. “Gene-o” Wright died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Osborne Care and Rehab. He was 90.
Wright was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Ottawa County to Jessie (Roche) and Charles Wright.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army, serving from 1941 to 1945. He worked at Eagle-Picher.
He married Margaret Ellsbery on Feb. 5, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1995.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and one grandson, Jason J. Wright.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Rick and Susan Wright of Tulsa and Steve and Janet Wright of Miami; one daughter and her husband, Vicki and Jay Hood of Commerce; six grandchildren, Michelle Carey, Lori Carey, Stephen Wright, Bob Wright, Rodney Hood and Melissa Knox, and three great-grandchildren, J.R. Knox, Destiny Bridgeman and Andrew Jason Ward Wright.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wyandotte Nation Cemetery. Jay Hood will be directing the services.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Midtown Funeral Home in Tulsa.
