Betty Louise Chaney of Coalgate died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in Coalgate. She was 70.
Mrs. Chaney was born June 3, 1938, in Vinita to Leslie Henry and Marva L. (Rosecrans) Myers. She was a resident of Welch for 36 years, moving to Coalgate 11 years ago. She graduated from Vinita High School.
A homemaker, she worked in the cafeteria in the Welch School District for 22 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalgate.
She married: George W. “Doc” Chaney on Aug. 14, 1958, in Narcissa. He survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Rick and Kristi Chaney of Coalgate; one daughter, Genie Chaney of Edmond; one sister, Geneva Ward of Coalgate, and two grandsons, Glenn Chaney and Garrett Chaney, both of Edmond.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Vinita. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
Pallbearers will be Gene “Red” O’Conner, Duane Daveport, Herb Russell, Don Broyles, Paul Wallace and Delbert Lovelace. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Coffee, Kevin Haney, Louis Sandman, Tony Corsini, Sock James and Carl McEntire
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Coalgate.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
