Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Rogers of Commerce died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Allgood Estates in Commerce. She was 76.
Mrs. Rogers was born Sept. 14, 1930, to Barnet Lester and Finita Ester (Harrison) Hale in Columbus, Kan. She had lived in the Miami area all of her life. She taught school in several rural and community schools for several years. She was a church pianist.
She married Charles a Rogers and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1994. She is also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Billy Ray Rogers, and one sister, Linda Alsbaugh.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Dennis Rogers of Tuscaloosa, Ala., J.B. Rogers and his wife Tammy of Miami, John Alan Rogers and his wife Dustie of Bluejacket; one daughter, Mary Eulitt and her husband Roy of Miami; one brother, Jim Hale and his wife Ruth of Columbus; one sister and her husband, Barbara and Robert of Chanute, Kan., and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher with the Rev. Tim Alsbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery northwest of Treece, Kan.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
