Thomas Steve Miller of Miami died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his residence after an illness. He was 56.
Mr. Miller was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Claremore to Adrian Thomas and Almeda Opal (Stafford) Miller.
He was a Vietnam War veteran of the Army.
He was a carpenter and a truck driver. He was a founder and charter member of the Vietnam Veterans Post 277 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He attended the Apostolic Church in Miami.
He married Rena Joe Ross on April 20, 1973, in Miami. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Jared and Katie Thomas Miller of Miami; one daughter, Kamisha Dawn Turner of Miami; one brother, John T. Briggs of Enid; one sister and her husband, Marcia and Ronnie Miller Ross of Miami, and five grandchildren, Grant Turner, Caleb Turner, Nathaniel Turner, Nikki Osborn and Ayden Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Church in Miami with the Rev. Onos Hood and pastor Phil Shyers officiating. Burial will be in Williams Timberhill Cemetery.
The Missouri Juliet Team will conduct military rites.
Pallbearers will be Bill Porter, John Briggs, Ronnie Coats, Robert Springer, Roy Ross and Danny Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Maple and Chad Ross.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
