John Nichols of Parsons, Kan., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at his home after an illness. He was 77.
Mr. Nichols was born Feb. 20, 1930, in Miami to Damon Coy and Ola (Hanna) Nichols. He graduated from Fairland High School.
He had lived in the Parsons and Coffeyville area.
He served in the Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Parsons.
Mr. Nichols had worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, David Claire Nichols of Los Angeles; two sisters, Georgia Bowen of Rogers, Ark., and Wanda Baldwin of Tulsa, and a host of nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Bob Barker will officiate.
