Hazel Dean Banks died Saturday, July 19, 2008, in Quapaw. She was 88.

Mrs. Banks was born July 13, 1920, in Maysville, Ark., to Homer and Daisy “Parmley” Fansler.

She was a homemaker and made Miami her home for the last 51 years. She attended John Brown College where she received a teaching certificate.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Fansler.

Survivors include her husband, James Banks; one son and his wife, John and Gina Banks of the home; one sister and her husband, Betty and Bud Fields of Miami; one granddaughter, Deidra Boswelle and her sons, Daniel and James Boswelle and three stepgrandsons.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Maysville cemetery.

Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
