Carolyn Broderick of Seneca, Mo., died Monday, July 9, 2007, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. She was 76.
Mrs. Broderick was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Joplin to William and Florence Carpenter. She lived in Seneca for 47 years
She worked for Big Smith garment factory and retired from Eagle Pitcher in Seneca. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Seneca.
She married Joseph L. Broderick on June 26, 1949, at Wella Park, east of Seneca. He preceded her in death Sept. 17, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Carpenter and Bill Carpenter.
Survivors include one son, Dewayne Broderick and wife Arlene of Humble, Texas; one daughter, Carol Ann Lankford and husband Terry of Seneca; one sister, Martha Carillo of Taylor, Texas; four grandchildren, Matt Lankford and wife Sarah, Michelle and husband Jeff, Angela Harrington and Tami Hudson, and seven great-grandchildren, Gabe and Karah Lankford, Rachael Wilcox, Chelcee Burton, Alec Hudson, Amberly Seefeldt and Makenna Broderick.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Seneca with pastor Marilyn O'Brien and Cynthia Royce officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca.
