Elores Heman England passed away at the age of 92 on Oct. 5, 2007, in Joplin, Mo., at the home of her granddaughter, who was by her side.
She was born in Yates Center, Kan., on April 24, 1915, to William and Emma Koenemann Heman, moving to Ottawa County in 1922.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, on July 28, 1999; her grandson-in-law, Eric Dietz on March 5, 2001; her parents; one sister, Delia Gordon, and two brothers Walter and Joe Heman.
Elores married Melvin England on June 13, 1935, in Wagoner. They shared 64 wonderful years together.
She retired from B.F. Goodrich. Elores was a member of Grand Lake Baptist Church in Grove.
They had lived east of Afton until selling their ranch and moving to Grove in 1989.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Garnett Buzzard of rural Fairland; two granddaughters, Kristi Dietz of Houston, Texas, and Kara McFarland of Joplin, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Blair Dietz of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lyndall Heman; nephews, Hugh Gordon and Johnny Brock, and nieces Frances Thomas, Aline Davidson, Retha Smith and Fayrene Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at the Adcock Funeral Home in Afton at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, with interment to be at Fairland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Buzzard, Arthur Morgan, Jim Gray, Johnny Brock, Art Morgan and Tyler Dietz.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral home.
