Helen Katherine England of Jay died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at her home after an extended illness. She was 78.
Mrs. England was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Maysville, Ark., to Grover and Eunice Callis. She graduated from Jay High School.
She was a homemaker, real estate salesperson and a quilter. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jay, active in the Jay Alumni Association and helped the election board.
She married Calvin England on June 23, 1948. He survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son, Cleve England of Tulsa; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Mike Belfore of Jay and Julia and Jim Markle of Adair; one brother, Holden Callis of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and six grandchildren, Fletcher Gross and Ethen, Ben and Chris Markle, all of Tulsa, Chad Markle of Dallas, Texas, and Marlon Markle of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lester and Clifton Callis, and one sister, Jennalea Collins.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Jay. The Rev. Josh Spires will officiate. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m today at Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
