Ben Edward Jameson of Miami died Monday, May 4, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Miami to J.R. and Mattie (Houston) Jameson of North Miami.
He was a Korean War veteran of the Army, serving from 1954 to 1956.
He was a farmer and truck driver. He worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kan., Glen Berry and Newman Boats. He was a member of the teamster union where he drove for Yellow Freight and retired. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
He married Bonnie R. Smith on Feb. 1, 1953. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Smithy and Sherry Jameson of Miami; three daughters and their husbands, Lana and Skip Marten of Owasso, Terry and Curtis Boyer of Park Hills, Mo., and Bonita and Tom Ferguson of Miami; one sister, Marie Mitchell of Vinita; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ramson Jameson and Houston Jameson, and one sister, Rachel Trolinger.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Rhonda Nash will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Military rites will be conducted the American Legion Post No. 147 Funeral Detail.
Pallbearers will be Steven Jameson, Scott Jameson, Shane Jameson, Blake Jameson, Stevan Jameson, Ty Walker and Bo Ferguson.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
