Alvin F. Rose of Miami died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Osborne Care and Rehab in Miami. He was 86.

Mr. Rose was born April 9, 1922, at Catesby to Ralph and Hallie (White) Rose. He lived in Miami for the last 16 years, moving from Everett, Wash.

He was a mechanical engineer for 25 years with the Boeing Company in Seattle, Wash. He was of the Baptist faith.

He married Jean Coats in 1941. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Terry Rose of Gadsden, Ala., and Danny Rose of Beggs; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ralph Rose Jr., and three sisters, Margarite Walton, Bessie Kirkpatrick and Helen Roach.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home in Woodward. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
