Richard M. Zajic of Grove died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007.

He was born July 15, 1927, in Miami to Frank and Letha Zajic. He graduated from Miami High School, the Oklahoma Military Academy of Clairemore and the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving as a second lieutenant in Orlando, Fla.

His career was dedicated to oil and gas exploration specialized in the Williston Basin: Gulf Oil Corp in Colorado, Montana and North Dakota; Kel-Don in Bismarck, N.D.; Chieftain International in Denver, Colo., and various independent operations.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Zajic of Grove,; two sons, Frank Zajic of Las Vegas, Nev., and Scot Zajic of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Virginia Timmermeister of Lima, Ohio; one brother, Marion Zajic of Grove, and one grandson Micajah Zajic of Traverse City, Mich.

Private memorial servicee will be held with family.
