Jackie Dean Wright of Miami died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at his home after an illness. He was 75.
Mr. Wright was born June 15, 1933, in Afton to Carl D. and Lorene Elizabeth (Grunden) Wright. He graduated from Afton High School. He lived in Miami since 1955.
He’s a veteran of the Army.
He retired as a foreman from B.F. Goodrich and was a member of the First Christian Church in Miami.
He married Verda McKinney on July 3, 1955, in Houston, Mo. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include four sons and their wives, Rodney and Melody Wright of Seneca, Mo., Roger and Mary Ann Wright of Mounds, Robert and Kelly Wright of Miami and Jack and Janel Wright of Okmulgee; one brother, Jerry Bill Wright of Ketchum; two sisters, Martha Chandler of Grove and Jane Darden of Claremore; eight grandchildren, David, Jordanne, Jessie, Millie, Kylee, Kilary, Hunter and Carson, and one great-grandson, Eli.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Miami. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 147 Funeral Detail.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Wright, Roger Wright, Robert Wright, Jackie Wright, David Wright and Hunter Wright.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church building fund.
