Freda Qualls Smith of Commerce died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami. She was 89.
Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Joplin, Mo., to Albert and Elsie (Fessler) VonMoss Sr. She lived in the Cardin and Commerce area all of her life.
She was a homemaker and a member of Southeast Baptist Church in Commerce.
She married Orville Monroe Qualls on Oct. 24, 1932, in Cardin. He preceded her in death in 1940. She married Amos Smith in May, 1951. He preceded her in death in June, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ed VonMoss, Albert VonMoss I, Donald VonMoss and Albert VonMoss II, and one sister, Dorothy VonMoss.
Survivors include two sons, Orville Qualls of Commerce and Dale Qualls of Riverton, Kan.; one brother, Fred VonMoss of Cardin; one sister, Velma Patton of Commerce; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami with the Rev. Billy Bissell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Randy Qualls, Travis Qualls, Fred VonMoss, Damon VonMoss, David Patton and John Patton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce.
