Gary Evans Hale of Welch died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 65.

Mr. Hale was born May 2, 1942, in Columbus, Kan., to Lonzo and Edith (Evans) Hale. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Wichita (Kan.) State University.

He worked as a maintenance engineer for Sunoco Refinery in Tulsa for 31 years until his retirement in 2005. He also worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami for five years. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Miami.

He married Eva Ann Williams on Feb. 23, 1963, in Baxter Springs, Kan. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Rick Hale of Welch and Corey Hale and wife, Gretchen, of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Lori and Bill McCaleb and Andee and Bob Evans, all of Jenks, and Patricia and Gary Evans of Tulsa; two brothers, Alfred Hale of Wichita and William Hale of McAlester; two sisters, Juanita Jarrett of Columbus and Jane Alumbaugh of San Antonio, Texas, and six grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Christy Dawn Hale; his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Baxter Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Eden will officiate.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Christian Church in Miami.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McCaleb, Gary Evans, Bob Evans, Herb Jarrett, Steve Jarrett, Tim Barrett.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
