Arlene Lanora Pauline Foote of Independence, Kan., died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. She was 62.
Mrs. Foote was born Sept. 5, 1946, in Ponca City to Arlie Menzo and Pauline (Williams) Brewer. She lived most of her life in the Ottawa County area.
She was a nurse at Baxter Nursing Home for many years and a member of First Christian Church in Commerce.
She married Henry Foote Sr. on Nov. 1, 1966, in Warner. He survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include four sons, Hank Foote, Henry Foote Jr. and Richard Foote, all of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Michael Moore of Riverton, Kan.; two daughters, Jeanette Choate of Branson, Mo., and Becky White of Coffeyville, Kan.; one brother, Hillis Carver of Colefax, Calif.; one sister, Patricia Anderson of Oklahoma City; 25 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous adopted grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Hayden Carver Sr.; one sister, Kathy Ashbury, and one granddaughter, Aundrea Trickett.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher. The Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, west of Treece, Kan.
Pallbearers will be Adam O’Brien, Patrick O’Brien, Dustin Markley, Ricky Markley, William Trickett and Jimmy Choate. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip O’Brien and Anthony Trickett.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
