Lois Loretta V. Boyd died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Boyd was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Collinsville to William Franklin “Frank” and Sarah Frances “Sally” (Bohannon) McCarty.

She was a homemaker She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church where she served as a clerk, WMU director, children's Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school worker and assistant treasurer for many years. She served as a cook at GLBA and a member of the Farm Bureau Auxiliary.

She married James Alvin Vincent on Dec. 12, 1931, in Tulsa. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1950.

She married Clinton W. Boyd on Aug. 3, 1953, in Fairland. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2002.

She was also preceded in death by one son, James A. Vincent Jr. on Sept. 4, 1999; her parents, five brothers, three sisters and two great-grandchildren, Stephen Wayne and Stephanie Herring.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Ronald Joe and Kay Vincent, Larry and Ruth Boyd of Fairland and Raymond and Sandy Boyd of Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Virginia Marchbank of Hood River, Ore., 12 grandchildren, Kathy and Bobby Schroeder, Jerry J. and Kelly Vincent, Jerry L. Vincent, Teresa and James Turner, Lisa and Donnie Fields and Jeff and Alexandra Boyd, all of Fairland, Jim and Linda Vincent of Miami, Sherri Newell of Denver, Colo., Deborah and Marc Testerman of Alma, Ark., Jim and Laura Boyd of Neosho, Mo., Jackie and Richard Mathews of Afton and Rayla and Jerry Gorman of Sherman, Texas, 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lone Star Baptist Church. Pastor Gary Shelton will officiate. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at at Lone Star Baptist Church.
