Richard Steve Smith, age 58, of Cabot, Ark., passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born Nov, 25, 1950 in Tahlequah, Okla. Steve was a graduate of Wyandotte High School, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla.
He was a long-time employee of B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Okla., and recently employed by Dassault-Falcon Jet in Little Rock.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sammye Smith of Cabot; mother, Helen Smith of Seneca, Mo.; son, Dustin Smith and his wife Tonya of Bentonville, Ark.; daughters, Amie Howell and her husband Michael of Cushing, Okla., and Megan Smith of Cabot; sisters, Pat Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jeanna Goodman and her husband Mark of Altus, Okla.; grandson, Garrett Stephen Smith of Bentonville, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Alvin Smith, and brother, Charles Whittaker.
Visitation was from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday Dec. 15, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami, Okla., with Brian Barlass officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Indian Cemetery in Miami.
