Ben Stice of Welch died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Miami Nursing Center. He was 92.

Mr. Stice was born April 23, 1915, in Craig County to Frank and Mamie (Brown) Stice.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army where he served as a staff sergeant. He was awarded special military honors including an Artilliary Bronze Star and ETO Ribbon.

He spent many years farming.

Survivors include two sisters, Rue Everett of Chetopa, Kan., and Correne O'Neal and her husband John, of Harrison, Ark.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Thomas Funeral Home in Welch with minister Brad Canham officiating.

Burial will be in Walker Cemetery, west of Welch.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 147 of Miami's Veteran's Funeral Detail.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, Welch.
