Raymond Francis Borowski died June 16, 2010, at his home in Zena. He was 63.
Ray was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., to Raymond Francis Borowski, Sr., and Marie Zyla Borowski.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966, and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded four purple hearts, South Vietnamese Civic Honor medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and nine citations. He continued his connection to the Marine Corps into his civilian life as a member of the Marine Corps League, Vietnam Veterans Grove chapter, Marine funeral detail and was president of the Grand Lake Veteranís Memorial Foundation.
He is survived by two sisters, Eileen Cecilia Cyz of Littleton, Colo., and Darlene Marie Obos and her husband, Bernard of Reno, Nev.; eight nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel in Fairland. Interment will be held at noon at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Muskogee. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 Sunday, June 20, at the the Funeral Home Chapel in Fairland. Services are under the direction of Roland Adcock, Adcock Funeral Home, Fairland.
