Dottie L. Bailey of Afton died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Grove Nursing Center after an illness. She was 79.
She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Miami to Lewis and Adeline (Slavin) Green. She moved to Afton in 1983, coming from Miami.
She worked as a grocery checker at Farrier's IGA and Consumers Grocery in Miami for 32 years. She was a member of Christ Church.
She married Kenneth Bailey on Dec. 2, 1944, in Miami. He survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Cindy and the Rev. Jerry Baser of Afton, Debbie and the Rev. Ray Kempel of Hutchinson, Kan., and Connie and Larry Kichler of Sherwood, Ark; her mother, of Miami; one brother, Thomas Green of Miami; one sister, Sylvia Bell of Tulsa, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Church, west of Grove. The Rev. Kenneth Linn will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Abby Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Josh Baser, Jeremiah Kichler, Justin Kichler, Chris Kichler, Kenny Kempel and Luke Dobbins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.
Memorials are suggested to Christ Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
