Dorothy M. Zardin, 85, of Wyandotte, died Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Spring River Christian Village in Joplin after an illness.

Mrs. Zardin was born Dorothy Mae Carley on May 22, 1923 in Burns, Kansas, the daughter of William and Hedvig "Ross" Carley. Dorothy was an LPN and a member of the Rebecca’s where she held the Grand Noble Post. She was a member of the Eastside Assembly of God.

She married HR "Rummy" Brecheisen in 1943 and he proceeded her in death on Oct. 16, 1990. She married Aleck Zardin in 1998 and he proceeded her in death Sept. 29, 2005.

Survivors include four sons, Gordon Brecheisen and wife Connie; Lee Brecheisen and wife Connie; Randy Brecheisen and his wife Linda; and Rodney Brecheisen all of Wyandotte, one sister, Edna Keller of Hutchinson, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by five siblings.

Funeral services under the care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the East Side Assembly of God with Rev Gary Rhoads officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Nick Brecheisen, Cody Brecheisen, Cole Brecheisen, Lyndon Brecheisen, Preston Brecheisen, and Jake Brecheisen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Daugherty, Matt Hopper and Neil Horn.
