Stephen F. White died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in Miami. He was 86.
Mr. White was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan., to Clinton and Maud Pearl (Miller) White. He lived in California for 50 years before moving to Miami five years ago.
He was a World War II veteran of the Navy, serving from 1940 to 1944. He was commissioned on the USS Brookline as a machinist.
He was a telegrapher and worked for South Pacific Rail Road. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3711 and the Elks Lodge No. 2059 in Mojave, Calif.
He married Edythe List on April 9, 1947, in Leavenworth, Kan. She survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Stepp of Miami; one brother, Clinton White Jr. of Oregon, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami. The Rev. Greg Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. Sunday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami. A Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
