Hazel Myrtle Housman of Miami died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at Miami Nursing Center after an illness.

She was 87.

Mrs. Housman was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Miami to Thomas and Myrtle (Andrews) Hopkins. She lived in Miami all of her life.

She worked at Lady Fair Laundry for five years. She was of the Assembly of God Faith.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Wayne and Jaunice Housman of Blanchard; four daughters, Treva Brodrick of Choctaw, Evelyn Maxson and Carolyn King, both of Miami, and Ilene Clarke of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, Allen Hopkins and Gene Hopkins, both of Miami; one sister, Mariellen Brodrick of Ozark, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, two brothers and one grandson.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Ottawa Indian Cemetery, southeast of Miami. Carroll Hopkins will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
