Chalmer O. “Chuck” Early of Miami died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Osborne Care & Rehab in Miami. He was 77.
Early was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Mountain View to Henry Houston and Ruby Gladys (Newell) Early.
He was a World War II veteran of the military.
He worked as a driver for Yellow Freight for 28 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was married to Betty Crawford. She preceded him in death.
He later married Judy Boyd. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, James Early of Strang and Eric Early of Afton; two daughters, Charlotte Pulley and Lizabeth Wakefield, both of Miami; one sister, Lillie Mae Ashmore of Monticello, Ark., 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, east of Miami, with the Rev. Bob Barker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
