Lola Fae Shaw of Miami died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw. She was 87.
Mrs. Shaw was born March 14, 1921, in Pottsboro, Texas, to William Happy and Ollie Mae (Stewart) Ridenour. She had lived in the Miami area since 1939, moving from Denison, Texas.
She had worked as an inspector at Patterson Manufacturing and Burlington Garment Mfg., in Miami, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Shaw and her husband, the Rev. W.W. Shaw, pastored churches in Quapaw and Hockerville for many years and were members of the First Assembly of God Church in Miami.
She married W.W. Shaw on Dec. 5, 1946, in Commerce. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2000.
Survivors include one son, Ernest McKee and wife Susan of Seneca, Mo.; four daughters and their husbands, Ravena Brady of Verdigris, Saudra and Jim Jinks of Commerce, Waundra and the Rev. Bill Armstrong of Catoosa, and Treva and Robert Wooley of Miami; three sisters, Annie Mae Davis of Dalhart, Texas, Stella Thornton of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Alma Baker of Denison; 27 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church of Miami with the Rev. Bill Armstrong, the Rev. Phil McGeechee and the Rev. Raymond Frizzell officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Darren Tippit, David Tippit, Brad Jinks, Brian Jinks, Brendon Jinks, Chad Shaw and Patrick Wooley.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
