The Rev. Leonard M. Eatherly of Miami died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Claremore Veterans Center.

He was 81.

The Rev. Eatherly was born July 17, 1926, in Ada to Leonard and Mary (Delthe) Eatherly.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army Tank Corp, serving in the Phillipines.

He worked for B.F. Goodrich for many years. He began his ministry in Afton in 1960, later pastoring the Assembly of God Church in Welch.

He married Rebecca Jewel Nichols on Feb. 23, 1944, in Oakland, Calif.

She preceded him in death on July 19, 1998.

He married Daisy Orcutt in November 2006.

She preceded him in death in May 2007.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Veda Abbott.

Survivors include two daughters, Twyla Sue Swider of Miami and Mary Joe Stumpf and her husband Tom of Skiatook; two sons and their wives, Jerry and Arlene Orcutt and Doville and Dorothy Orcutt, all of Miami; two sisters, Ruth Hogue of Tulsa and Jeannie Watson and her husband Waymond of Jenks, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Miami.

The Rev. Calvin Akerson will officiate. The Rev. Charles Lawson and the Rev. Phil Shyers will assist. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, east of Miami.

Pallbearers will be Jim Wright, Robert Budde, Richard Arnold, Bill Polson, Rick Chaney and Darrell Manley.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home in Welch.
