Allen D. Armstrong of Fairland died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Fairland Nursing Center after an illness. He was 59.
Mr. Armstrong was born May 29, 1948, in El Dorado, Kan., to Albert A. and Dorothy L. (Burdick) Armstrong. He lived in Fairland for five years, moving from Grove.
He worked as a self-employed painter. He was of the Protestant faith.
He married Mary L. Wilson on Aug. 17, 2007, in Fairland. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son, James Armstrong, of the home; two daughters, Angela Issacs and Jessica Hewes, both of Wichita, Kan.; his mother, of Fairland; one brother and his wife, Eldon and Dee Armstrong of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister and her husband, Virginia and Claude Best of Fairland, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Claude Best will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
