Bonnie Lee Woody of Afton died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after an illness.  She was 88. 

Mrs. Woody was born April 19, 1919, in Afton, to Joseph and Lola (Owsley) Spittler. She was a lifetime Afton resident.

She was a waitress at several cafes in the area, with the last one being Bell's Café in Afton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Afton and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Vinita. 

She married Sherman Jeff Woody on June 24, 1938, at Neosho, Mo. He preceded her in death. 

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Spittler, and one sister, Fern Gantt.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Jeff and Janice Woody of Plano, Texas; four daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Vearl Mullin of Afton, Judith Evans of Chattanooga, Donna Lowe of Afton, and DeAnn and Jim Barrand of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one sister, Fae Ford of Bedford, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Afton. The Rev. Chuck Price will officiate. 

Pallbearers will be Larry Schroeder, Travis Schroeder, Wade Lowe, Sherman Lowe, Wade Lowe Jr. Jay Evans, Ray Evans, Josh Wheeler, and Ryan Woody. 

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Adcock Funeral Home in Afton. 

Memorial donations are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Afton.
