Samuel Price of Jay died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, after a long illness. He was 80.
Mr. Price was born May 18, 1927, in Eucha to Samuel Price Sr. and Mary (Partain) Price. He graduated from Jay High School in 1945. He was a lifetime Jay resident.
He was a veteran of the Navy.
He was a retired street superintendent of the City of Jay and the owner of Price's DX service station.
He married Melba Earp on Jan. 25, 1953, in Jay. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include three children and their spouses, Brad and Sandi Price and Dan and Sandy Price, all of Jay, and Janey and Roger Simmons of Salina; one sister, Glenda Blosser of Littleton, Colo.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David Price, George Price and an infant, and six sisters, Jessie Olmstead, Sina Vanover, Dovie Bush, Eula Price, Opal Hart and Gladys Paul.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Southside Church of Christ in Jay. Steve Stenzil and Keith Cagel will officiate. Burial will be in Duffield Cemetery in Jay.
The Grove Veterans Ritual Team will conduct the military rites.
Arrangements are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
