Fern Lucille Duree of Baxter Springs, Kan., died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at her home. She was 71.

Mrs. Duree was born March 29, 1936, in Baxter Springs to Buel Lin and Ethel Gladys (Winters) Austin. She had lived in Baxter Springs most of her life.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Abounding Faith Ministry in Miami.

She married Orville Duree on May 2, 1954. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include three sons, Buel Duree of Baxter Springs, Dean Duree of Riverton, Kan., and Terry Duree of Wisconsin; one daughter, Charmyn Greninger of Webb City, Mo.; her mother, Ethel Gladys Waggoner of Joplin, Mo.; three brothers: Kenneth Austin of Carl Junction, Mo., and Gary Austin and Ron Austin, both of California; one sister, Lavonda Johnson of California, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Worship Center in Baxter Springs. Burial will be in Lowell, Kan., Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Fairle, Levi Miller, Shawn Gorda, Taylor Duree, David Duree and Paul Allen Duree.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher.
