Mary Elizabeth Beason-Gordon of Paragould, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in her home. She was 77.

Mrs. Beason-Gordon was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Miami to W.S. and Ethel Beason. She grew up in the Miami, but lived most of her life in Indiana and Arkansas.

She was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church in Cherokee Village, Ark., where she served as the secretary for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harold Gordon; one son and his wife, Steven and Deena Gordon of Paragould; one brother and his wife, Don and Lena Beason of Claremore; two sisters, Thelma Fouts of Commerce and Lavona Sadd of Grove; three grandchildren, Jason Gordon, Kurt Gordon and Miranda Ruenroeng, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Gordon, and two grandchildren, Krista Denton and Adam Gordon.

A memorial service was held Jan. 11 in Jonesboro, Ark. It was officiated by the Rev. Larry White.
