Ira B. Davis died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008.

He was 89.

Mr. Davis was born Jan. 29, 1919, east of Miami to Ezra and Ethel (Nickle) Davis. He lived his entire life in Miami.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army, serving from 1943 to 1945.

He retired from B.F. Goodrich having worked in the quality control department.

He was a longtime member of Eastview Church of Christ where he served as deacon. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church for the past two years.

He married Mavis on Feb. 1, 1941, in Joplin, Mo. She survived, of the home.

Additional survivors include one son, Ira Richard Davis of Los Angles, Calif., and two grandsons, Scott and Kurt Davis, both of Los Angles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beulah and Lorene Davis.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch of Miami. Minister Ron Eden of Bethany Christian Church and Elder Jappie Roberson of the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch will officiate the service. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Bethany Christian Church of Miami.
