Marjorie S. Reeves of Miami died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at St. Johnís Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
She was 71.
Mrs. Reeves was born May 9, 1937, in Picher to James and Mildred (Kennedy) Carey. She graduated from Picher High School and lived in Picher all of her life.
She was a certified medical aide at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home in Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reeves; one daughter, Linda Mathis; her parents; three brothers, Bud Carey, Don Carey and James Carey; two sisters, Sharon Staley and Doris Jones, and one grandson, Quade Mead.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Terry and Meline Reeves of Fairland, Jim and Angel Reeves of Peoria and Time Reeves of Miami; three daughters and their husbands, Anna and James Richardson and Sheila and Joe Childress, all of Miami,† and Susie and John Jackson of Erie, Kan.; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Carlene Carey of El Paso, Texas, and Joe and Darla Carey of Tulsa; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher. The Rev. Robert Cody will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Jason Reeves, Dustin Richardson, John Jackson, Aaron Richardson, Christopher Richardson, Danny Mathis and Nick Childress.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
