Bill F. Althouse of Miami died at 4:35 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2007 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 64.

Mr. Althouse was born March 15, 1943, in Miami to Frank M. and Margaret L. (Goettel) Althouse. He graduated from Miami High School in 1961. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1963.

At the age of 11, he began his working career at Roy's Drive-In on North Main in Miami. In 1962, he began working for Cooper Funeral Home in Miami. He was working as manager of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami, a position he had held since 1991. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Miami and the Miami Evening Lions Club.

He married Katherine M. Melton on Jan. 12, 1980, in Miami. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include one brother, Charles “Chuck” Althouse and his wife Sadie of Tulsa, and five nieces, Laurie Schrader of Fairland and Margaret “Cissy” Althouse, Trixie Walls, Cherietta Swar and Wendy Martin, all of Tulsa.

The funeral will be 2 p.m., Thursday at First Christian Church in Miami with minister Leon Weece, the Rev. Bob Barker and minister Tom Goettel officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

Pallbearers will be Herb Bath, Jimmy Bayliss, Tom Chesnutt, Marvin Gress, the Rev. Don Kirchhoff and Melvin Simmons.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
