Richard Wesley Hensley of Miami died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008. He was 72.

Mr. Hensley was born March 20, 1936, in a log cabin in the Pornor District of Delaware County to late Clyde A. and Juanita Belle (Hasty) Hensley. He attended Peters Prairie before transferring to Grove where he graduated in 1956. He moved to the Miami area 1979.

He was a veteran of the Navy Air Force, serving four years active duty and two years reserve.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miami.

Survivors include three sons, Lee Hensley of the home, Mark Hensley of Miami and Dan Hensley of San Clemente, Calif.; one brother and his wife, Kenneth and Pat Hensley of Clarksville, Va.; two sisters, Evelyn Graham of Bolivar, Mo., and Anita Mitchell and her husband Jim of Virginia Beach, Va., and one granddaughter, Madison Lynne Hensley of Miami.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Conner.

A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Mo. Burial with full military honors will be in Southwest City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Howard Foreman, Bill Carpenter, Doval Orcutt, Eldon Smith, Lee Hensley and Mark Hensley.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Monday.
