Mary Oneta Turner of Miami died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Osborne Care and Rehab Center in Miami after an illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Turner was born June 8, 1923, in Boatman to Collebert and Mary Ellen (Eggleson) Harris.

She was a seamstress for Delmar Laundry that later merged and became Miami Laundry for 46 years until her retirement in 1996.

She married Archie Harold Turner on June 5, 1937, in Pryor. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She was also preceded in death by one infant son, her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Turner and John Turner, both of Miami; three daughters, Billie Jean Powers, Lana Moreland and Joan Burtrum and her husband James, all of Miami; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Casey Hollingsworth will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

Pallbearers will be Perry Turner, James Burtrum, Mike Wright, Mike Cordes, Darrel Powers and Shane Moreland. Honorary pallbearers will be William Turner, Cody Turner, Irvin Meyers, Darrel Powers Jr. and Curtis Turner.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
