Roy Harris of Miami died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after an illness. He was 85.
Mr. Harris was born March 3, 1925, in Bard, Calif., to James and Alberta (Aglin) Harris. He had lived in Miami for 12 years, moving from McAllen, Texas, and had lived in Tempe, Ariz., for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all 12 of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Neldena (Womack) Harris, of the home; three daughters, Sandra Roberts and husband Braxton, of Goodhope, Ga.; Sharon Wilbur and husband Steve of Tempe, and Patty Schmella and husband Fred of Toppenish, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Miami. The Rev. Braxton Roberts will officiate.
Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
