Ina Mae McCoin of Afton died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. She was 80. 

She was born July 28, 1927, at Afton to Floyd and Flora (Dykes) Johnson. She graduated from Afton High School and was a lifetime Afton resident. 

She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1977. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Afton and also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 264, in Afton. 

She married J.D. McCoin on July 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1995. 

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Tara and Jason Gibson of Narcissa; one stepdaughter, Patsy Kay Rothe of Afton; three grandchildren, Tracy and husband Scott Rogers of Lawton, and Bryce Gibson and Natalie Gibson, both of Narcissa, and two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Brayden Rogers of Lawton. 

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Afton, with the Rev. Chuck Price officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Jimmie Dale Buckallew, Sammie Dale Buckallew, Scott Johnson, Reggie Stone, Don Stone and Brian Neil Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Johnson, Jim Tipton, Gary Edwards and Leon McCoin. 

Memorials are suggested to the Nathan Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
