Lifelong Welch, Oklahoma resident, Billy Edward Polson, 84, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at his home, with his family at his side.

Bill was born December 22, 1927, West of Welch to William Ray and Mildred (Miller) Polson. He was a graduate of Welch High School. He proudly served his country with the 1st Calvary of the United States Army.

After returning from the military, Bill worked for B.F. Goodrich, retiring in 1986. He also worked for Neillís Feedlot, South of Welch for many years. He was an active member of the Welch Methodist Church, Lions Club, and Quail Unlimited. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Colleen David and Raedean Estham.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; 1 son, Gary Ray Polson and his wife Lora of Stillwater, OK; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

There will be a visitation for family and friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Welch Methodist Church. Bill Forrest will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Bullard, Lonnie Miller, Bill McAffrey, Brad Mount, Bryan Williams and Ronnie McAffrey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Welch Lions Club and Show Me Birds.

Interment at Welch City Cemetery.
