Helen Marie Cozart of Vinita died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was 71.
Mrs. Cozart was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Omaha, Neb., to Fred and Ida Gerhart. She attended school in Omaha. She moved to Oklahoma in 1975, lived in Picher before moving to Vinita in 1993.
She worked as a nurse’s aide and housekeeper at the Quapaw Nursing Home, Big Cabin Truck Plaza and Autumn Homes 1 and 2 in Vinita.
She married Charles Edward Cozart on Nov. 17, 1957, in Bakersfield, Calif. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Cozart, and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Christine Cozart of Miami and Teresa Regina Bennett and her husband Bruce of Vinita; three sons and their wives, Marvin Eugene Cozart of Vinita, Danny Lee and Sylvia Coart of Leeds, Maine, and George and Debra Ballew of Broken Arrow; two brothers, Eugene Manzer and Charlie Manzer, both of Omaha; one sister, Mildred Synder of Omah, 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were 1 p.m. Monday at the Family Praise Center. Pastor Jerry Ogdon officiated. Burial was in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers were Charlie, C.J. and Danny Cozart, and Bruce, Brandon and Bruce “Bubby” Bennett, and Tyson Keith.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home of Vinita.
