Our beloved Bertha Honeycutt entered into everlasting life with our Lord and Savior on June 5, 2010 in Miami, at the age of 89.
Bertha was born September 3, 1920 to her parents W.G. and Nellie Crow in Miami.
Bertha enjoyed life as a professional cook, seamstress, wife, mother, sister and grandmother with a zest for life and a great sense of humor. She lived in Wichita, Kan. for 25 years while residing in Miami since 1978. On February 26, 1937 Mr. Drexel Honeycutt took Miss Bertha Crow as his bride in Miami. Bertha was a longtime and faithfull member of NW Baptist Church of Miami. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and quilting. Bertha always put her family first. She loved her friends and family dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.G. and Nellie Crow; husband, Drexel Honeycutt; daughters, Shirley (Honeycutt) Wilson and Lethia (Honeycutt) Santiago; Daughter in law, Vicki Honeycutt; two grand daughters, Rebecca Roberts and Julie Rogers; and several brothers and sisters.
We will miss her dearly. Our hearts are filled with love and pride and a selfish place where we wish she could remain with us.
Bertha is survived by: one son, Lloyd Honeycutt of Fontana, Calif.; two brothers, Charles Crow of Anderson, Mo; and Jack Crow of Miami; three sisters, Dixie McCorkell of Seneca, Mo, Patsy Spunaugle of Blue Jacket, Okla., and Georgia Sapp of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and a host of longtime friends and neighbors.
Please join the family in a celebration of her life and love at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home on Wednesday June 9, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. for visitation with the Funeral Service following 11 a.m. Thursday June 10, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Miami with Pastor Marty McCord and Brother Gordon Hitcher officiating. Interment will follow the service at Blue Jacket Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Scott Standlee, Jordan Ball, Brian Patterson, Jeff Patterson, Terry Spunaugle, Chuck Craig.
