Tracy “Trace” Wright of Miami, Okla., passed away Monday, June 4, 2007, at his home after an illness. He was 93.
Mr. Wright was born Feb. 1, 1914 in Wyandotte, Okla., to James M. and Frona (Brisendine) Wright. He had lived all his life in the Wyandotte, Miami area.
He served in the Army during World War II, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Miami and Hudson Creek Baptist Church. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Services in Miami, Okla., for 29 years, retiring in 1975.
His parents and all of his siblings preceded him in death,
Survivors include his wife and best friend of 58 1/2 years Gertrude (Power) Wright; one son, Tracy Wright of Billings, Mo.; one daughter and her husband, Janette and Mike Ford of Miami, Okla.; five grandchildren John Tracy Wright, Amanda Butcher, Meagan Genzler, Dusty Ford and Josh Ford, and six great-grandchildren.
There will be a family gathering at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla., from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Wyandotte Scholarship Fund.
