Emmett N. Hollon age 90 of Commerce, Oklahoma passed away, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. He was born February 11, 1922 in Checotah, Oklahoma the son of Noah & Katie (West) Hollon.
He served in the United States Army overseas during WWII receiving many awards and medals before his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Ermal Eddins on November 10, 1940 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by two sons, DeWayne Hollon and his wife, Susan of Miami, Oklahoma, Joe Hollon and his wife, Susan of Littleton, Colorado, two daughters, Tammie Bland of Fairland, and Linda Hegler of Dallas, Texas, one brother, Harold Hollon and his wife, Connie of Arizona and four sisters, Wilma Brauer of Prague, Oklahoma, Hazel Heinzig of Oklahoma, Velma Opelia of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Mary Mayfield of Wichita, Kansas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren with another on its way and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Emmett N. Hollon will be held 10:30AM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Paul Thomas Funeral in Commerce, with Rev. Howie Moss officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Glen Abbey Cemetery in Miami, with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be DeWayne Hollon, Joe Hollon, Buck Bland, Zach Hollon, Henry Hollon, Ryan Hollon and Jim Hollon. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home.
