Alfred “Buck” Rogers, of Welch died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at St. John's Health System in Springfield, Mo. He was 86.

Mr. Rogers was born Oct. 25, 1920, west of Welch to Charlie Vernon and Olsie Mae (Williams) Rogers. He served in the Air Force during World War II.

He married Lorene Griffith on Dec. 25, 1941, in Welch. She survives, of the home. The couple spent many years farming on their Welch land.

He spent many hours building miniature steam engines. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Additional survivors include his two sons, Rollin Dale Rogers and Gaylin Lonnie Rogers, both of Welch; a daughter, Vickie Denise Gideon of Welch; one sister, Maxine Milizer of Miami, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. with the Rev. J.B. Roberts and the Rev. Dale Carter officiating. Pallbearers will be Ritchie Hart, Mike Brady, Morgan Wayland, Stan Deewall, Darryl Baunhofer and Cecil Ahrens.

Interment at Rogers Cemetery, west of Welch.
