Goldie Lewis Williams, 91, died Aug. 24, 2007, at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Born Jan. 21, 1916, the second of seven children of Elbert and Elsie Lewis, in Webb City, Mo.
A child of the “Great Depression” she spent most of her life as a loving caretaker and homemaker. During World War II she became a factory worker making uniforms for our troops. She was a Christian and became a member of the First Christian Church in Versailles, Mo.
Twice married, once to Floyd Gunnels and once to Wade Williams, both deceased.
She moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, and for thirty years of her life spent caring for her daughter, Carol Lynch, and four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, to whom she was most devoted.
Graveside services will be conducted at Williams Coal Cemetery, Miami, Okla., on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m., under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
Remembrances may be made to the Oklahoma City Cross Roads Hospice Care.
