Christopher L. “Chris” Ahrens of Vinita died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, from injuries sustained in an auto accident outside of Vinita. He was 23.
Mr. Ahrens was born Oct. 29, 1985, in Bartlesville to Lawrence P. and Rose Mary (LaCaria) Ahrens. He grew up and attended schools in Chetopa, Kan.
He had worked for General Mills and was currently employed by Allied Marine in Langley.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing
He was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chetopa.
Survivors include three sons, Trenton Ahrens, Shawn Ahrens and Colton Ahrens, all of the home; his fiancee, Stephanie Keith of the home; his mother, of Welch; four brothers and their wives, Gene and Mary Ahrens and Glen Ahrens, all of Tucson, Ariz., Gary and Carrie Ahrens of Eagle, Wis., and Stephen Ahrens of Welch; two sisters, Cindy Porter of Welch and Carolyn Tullis of Oswego, Kan., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on Oct. 11, 2000.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery in Chetopa.
